The M-CARE project successfully conducted a WP2 stakeholder training in Kenya to prepare the Kenyan project team for the upcoming pilot activities.
The training was led by the WP2 Lead, Prof. Ama de-Graft Aikins, and brought together members of the M-CARE Kenya team. Colleagues from the Ghana and Uganda M-CARE teams also had the opportunity to join the training, creating a valuable platform for cross-country learning and shared understanding of the stakeholder consultation process.
The training focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of the stakeholder engagement activities, tools, and procedures that will be used during the pilot phase. The sessions also provided an opportunity to discuss the practical aspects of implementation and clarify roles and responsibilities.
A key feature of the training was the use of role-play exercises, which enabled participants to practise different scenarios that may arise during the pilot activities. These interactive sessions were particularly useful in helping the teams become familiar with the stakeholder engagement process, strengthen their communication and interviewing skills, and identify areas requiring further clarification.
The role plays also created an opportunity for participants from the different country teams to exchange feedback, discuss potential field challenges, and explore practical ways of responding to different situations during stakeholder consultations.
Overall, the training was successful and provided an important platform for strengthening the confidence and readiness of the M-CARE Kenya team, while also promoting learning across the Kenya, Ghana, and Uganda teams.
The Kenya team is now better prepared to undertake the WP2 pilot activities and engage effectively with stakeholders during implementation. The training marks another important step towards the successful implementation of M-CARE activities in Kenya and across the participating countries
