
Dr. Samson Udho

Dr. Samson Udho is a certified nurse-midwife from Uganda. He is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery at Lira University. He holds a Bachelor of Nursing and Master of Nursing (Midwifery & Women’s Health) Degree from Makerere University, Uganda and a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Samson is rated one of the top 500 emerging scientists in Uganda according to the Alper-Doger Scientific Index, 2022.
His work is focused on strengthening the quality of care for non-communicable diseases, maternal and newborn care, building multilevel interventions to prevent and eliminate intimate partner violence in women and girls, and building the capacity of the health workforce to ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive healthcare services, including family planning and comprehensive abortion care. Samson’s research work is grounded in sub-Saharan Africa.
