Dr. Erisa Mwaka

Dr. Erisa Mwaka is a clinician, academician, and bioethicist. He is an Orthopaedic and Spine surgeon, Associate Professor, and chair of the Department of Human Anatomy at Makerere University.

He has been a member of a research ethics committee for 14 years, serving as its chair for 12 years. He is a member of the bioethics working group at the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology. He was the Chair of the H3Africa Ethics and Community Engagement Working Group.

His research interests include research ethics, ethical, legal, and social issues in biobanking and genomic research, clinical ethics, digital health ethics, human anatomy, medical education, and bone health.
